2 Gravy Boats
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1oz plain flour
1 pint giblet stock/good quality chicken stock
¼ pint port (or wine or sherry)
2 tablespoons redcurrant jelly
2 tablespoons Taste #5 Umami Bomb
kosher salt & freshly ground black pepper
- In a large saucepan, heat the oil over a medium heat and stir in the flour. Cook for 1 minute.
- Now gradually pour in the stock and port, whisking all the time.
- Add the redcurrant jelly and Umami Bomb, mixing through well.
- Bring to the boil then reduce to simmer for 2-3 minutes. Season to taste.
